The Post has been active in parades in New Ulm and elsewhere throughout its existence.  The first parade noted in Meeting Minutes was the Memorial Day Parade in 1922.  Illustrated here are four later parades:

01     Legion Parade in 1952 featuring the Johnson Motors float.  Maidens on the left merry-go-round are Barbara Keckeisen, Janet Townsend, Shirley Becker, and Shirley Ubl.  On the right are Helene Fesenmaier, Rosemary Kuck, (?), Jill (?), Barbara Kumm, Jeanne Keckeisen, and Carol Forschman.

02    Centennial Parade August 20, 1954 celebrating New Ulm’s founding in 1854.  The Queens are L – R:  Mavis Peterson, Marlene Schmitz, and Janet Schmitz (Marlene’s sister).  Up front is Elmo Swanbeck on the left and Peter Lang on the right.

03   Labor Day (?) Parade September 6, 1954 showing the Post clubrooms decorated with patriotic bunting.

04    Post 132 float in 1980 convention parade in New Ulm.  In uniform L – R:  Ray Meidl, Charles Koch, (?), Robert Schapekahm.  The float was built by Hugo Meidl  and Wally Schapekahm, with the Legion emblem painted by Greg Windhorn.
