Thirty-one men gathered at the American Legion clubrooms and formed the “World War 1 Veterans Club.”  This was to be a fellowship organization with no projects and no dues.  Two dinner meetings a year called for talking over old times, songs, and gemütlichkeit (friendly togetherness).  All veterans of World War 1 were eligible.  The only requirement was membership in the Legion or the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
