The American Legion joined a coalition of Brown County veterans organizations to buy a van to transport county veterans to veterans hospitals in St. Cloud and Minneapolis in Minnesota, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The 1987 Dodge van accommodates 8 persons plus 2 wheelchairs, and includes a wheelchair lift. Brown County will be responsible for title, maintenance, housing, and insurance. There are about 7,000 veterans in Brown County.
