Sons of the American Legion

On Saturday October 25th from 11 am till 1:30 pm , New Ulm S.A.L. held its annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat event at the New Ulm Legion, and what a event it was! We tied in with the New Ulm Chambers Halloween Hop event.
Over 550 kids stopped by to grab some goodies from us along with parents and grandparents.
550 bags were stuffed by Legion volunteers the Saturday before filled with candy, coloring books, juice, cheese and other misc. Items.
Kids were also given a token for a free Taco or ice cream that evening as well as being able to grab a stuffed animal thanks to the 300+ donated by our community.

This event has been held annually since 70's and is made possible thanks to our community and the great sponsors that donate. Our New Ulm Sons of American Legion was charted in 1971!

The Sons of the American Legion is a patriotic service organization formed on September 12–15, 1932. The S.A.L. is made up of boys and men of all ages whose parents, grandparents or step parents/grandparents served in the United States Armed Forces during times specified by the American Legion. The Sons of the American Legion’s mission to serve veterans, the military and their families is carried out through its hundreds of outreach programs delivered by its members, volunteers and national headquarters. The Sons of the American Legion’s national headquarters is located in Indianapolis.

The Sons are a program of the American Legion and support all of their programs.

The Sons are the lifeblood of the American Legion Family. We strengthen the posts’s activities.
